Assessment

• The school has two semesters; April to October and November to March.
• There will be two unit tests for classes L.K.G. to Class V before the half yearly exams and two more unit tests after the half yearly exams.
• For classes VI – VIII there will be two Formative Assessments before the Summative Assessment – I and two more formative assessments before Summative Assessment – II.
• Classes IX and X will have same number of formative as well as summative assessments. They shall also have Assessment of Speaking and Listening Skills, Open Text Book based Assessment and Problem Solving Assessment. The question papers for summative assessments will be sent by the Board. There will be an examination in each term and a progress report will be issued. There will be two each formative assessments in each term as per the dates made known to you during the year.
• Formative Assessments will consist of individual activity, another group activity and Pen Paper Test.
• Assessment in Work Experience, Art Education, Physical and Health Education, Life Skills and SUPW will be undertaken by the school in terms of letter grades on a five-point scale (i.e. A, B, C, D and E) based on Class & Home Assignments, Projects, and Activities etc.
• Willful breach of the regulations of the conduct of an examination is punishable with expulsion from the examination or if subsequently discovered the cancellation of the answer script.
• Pupils who are detected giving or attempting to give or obtain unfair assistance whatsoever, during an assessment, will have their results cancelled in the particular subject and me be asked to be withdrawn from the school if such an offence is repeated.
• There can be no anticipation or postponement of any written paper. However, if it is an oral for the K.G. classes, it may be considered only for a grave reason with prior permission of the principal. If the students are seriously ill they should not be sent to answer the test and medical certificates should be submitted for the absence. In case of absence due to illness, the final result will be decided on the basis of rest of the results and the general performance during the year.
• 75% attendance is essential for appearing in the final exam.
• It is compulsory for the students of class X to clear the pre-board exams in order to appear for the Board Exams.
• ANSWER PAPERS OF THE FINAL EXMINATION ARE NOT SHOWN TO THE CHILDREN NOR TO THE PARENTS/GUARDIANS
• Serious action will be taken if the marks/grade are tempered with

Promotion

• Promotion of pupil from one class to another is determined on the performance in the continuous assessments during the year.
• If a student has not answered both the terminal examinations he may not be promoted to the next class.
• In order to declared pass, a student must get an average of 40% marks in all the subjects of examination.
• Results declared at year end are final in all classes and will not be re-considered.
• The pupils who don’t make the grade for the next class for a second time or failing to make the grade in two consecutive classes should find a more suitable school to continue their studies.
• Any pupil, because of detention in a class, attains an age, which is two or more years above the average age of the class, may have to be withdrawn from the school.
• Assessments made by the teachers and checked by the Principal are fair and shall be final. No representation regard to promotion will be entertained.
